All gender equality measures of the TRR 195 are coordinated by the gender equality committee and the office.

We can support career-promoting measures for female scientists at the SFB and general measures for a better reconciliation of family and science within the SFB.

Career-enhancing measures could include, for example, individual coaching, soft skill training, or supporting the creation of networks of female scientists. Also women and SFB-related public relations work may be possible. If you are interested, please contact us.

Measures to better reconcile family and science can benefit women and men. The aim is to support childcare costs outside of normal nursery hours during working hours or SFB events. In addition, partial support for the loss of scientific staff for family reasons may be possible. Again, if you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us.

Here are some impressions of selected events we organize / have organized:

  • We have once again expanded our expansion of the exhibition “Women of Mathematics throughout Europe“. In addition to the existing 7 female professors, 12 female doctoral students have now been added with their experiences and dreams: On Friday, November 3, 2023, the SFB-TRR 195, the Department of Mathematics of Saarland University and the Gender Equality Office open the exhibition Women & Mathematics – Women of Mathematics feat. Visionary – mit den Augen der Mathematik. Part of it are 19 portraits of female mathematicians of the SFB-TRR 195. The second part presents pictures of the IMAGINARY exhibition, designed by the Mathematical Research Institute Oberwolfach (MFO). More information can be found hier. The Saarländischer Rundfunk  (SR) broadcast a nice television report about our exhibition opening in the program “aktueller bericht” from November 7th, 2023. It can be viewed here from minute 18:55.

  • The Focus Semester on Quantum Information taking place from September 12 to December 9, 2022 at Saarland University offers workshops for female Ph D. students and Post-Docs. Further information can be found here.
