In June 2011 the Fachgruppe Computeralgebra organizes its first workshop on industrial applications of Computer Algebra.

The workshop aims at bringing together and presenting the different aspects of industrial applications of Computer Algebra -- from development of algorithms to the use of computer algebra tools in a technical or engineering context.

For pointing out the strengths of a Computer Algebra System based approach in industrial applications, and outlining directions for future product development and research, it is vital to enhance the communication between three different communities in computer algebra:

The venue of the workshop is the Fraunhofer-Institut für Techno- und Wirtschaftsmathematik, which was the first Fraunhofer institute for industrial mathematics (founded in 1995).
